Meeting with people giving their papers to the archives, and seeing the rich history they bring! ? Organizing historic papers to make them accessible, by processing collections! Working at the Bentley has allowed me to see all aspects of stewarding archival material,” Alexis says, adding: "Special thanks to my amazing supervisors for mentoring me so much along the way." One piece of advice they would give: UMSI has so many opportunities, especially for first-generation college students (like myself!) Don’t be afraid to use those resources and connections, as they are what make the degree worthwhile, and allow you to connect with the information field.” Alexis has just graduated with a Master of Science in Information, with a focus on Managing and Sustaining Collections! ? In the future, Alexis says: I’d love to continue working in an academic library or archive at the University of Michigan, or at least somewhere around this area.
